Video Production

For the video production assignment this week, I chose to make a video introducing myself to my parents and students for this upcoming school year. Since I am still considered a new teacher, I am excited to describe Music Therapy and how it led me in my journey in becoming a teacher.

When making my video, I decided to shoot a portion on my phone and a clip on my computer. I have used iMovie for editing movies before for simple projects, so I decided to continue with that application. Through the editing process, I had difficulty embedding music. I wanted to use music in my iTunes Library, however since the latest iTunes update, it is no longer compatible with iMovie. I decided to download a clip from bendsound.com, but it was also converted to a iTunes file. The only music I could use was what was already in iMovie. For my next video, I am now aware of my limitations so the process will go much smoother.

Overall, I enjoyed creating my video. I am excited to share all my passions in life in this short clip. I hope y’all enjoy!

  1. Aubrey!
You and your video were absolutely adorable! I loved your song at the being. It takes a special person to go into special education, so kudos to you for being in it for 3 years now! I liked enjoyed all your pictures of your chickens, dog, and husband. The video was so fun and well edited. You did an awesome job on the video, I wish I had also used iMovie because it seems to produce better videos than the software I used.

  2. Hi Aubrey,
Great job on your video! I like how you used still pictures and video to share about yourself and your life. This would be a great video to share with your students and parents. It really would help them get to know you.
I also used iMovie for my video. I had some challenges getting it embedded on my blog, but it was pretty simple to use. Your video and blog are both very creative and attractive! Again, great job!

  3. Hi Aubrey,

I really enjoyed your video! You did a fantastic job. I think its is so neat about you music therapy. I used iMovie as well. For me this is such a difficult thing, just because I don’t have much experience with it. Even though you had challenges I felt like your video didn’t show it. This would be a great way for you to let your parents and students know about the things that make you you. Nice Job!!

  4. Hello Aubrey, I really loved your video, it was very unique. I love music as well and that gave me a great idea for the first day of school. Teaching Special Ed takes a very patient and understanding person, kudos to you! I can tell you have a passion for caring for people as well as animals. I had some problems with my music as well, but I know if I keep practicing, I will get better at it.

  5. Hi Aubrey,

Great video! One suggestion about the music since you were having some difficulty – when you download the music from a site like Bensound.com, choose to save the file in a folder other than iTunes. Then, you will be able to drag and drop the song into your iMovie project in order to include it in your video. -JG

  6. Howdy Aubrey,

The video was wonderful I enjoyed it. I too used IMovie with difficulty implementing my own music giving up halfway-through as the speed to convert it took far too long. But don’t let that deter you from using again it I thought it sounded fine within your video. Well done.
